Education
Jonah is an assiduous student at Carmel High School. He took the SAT in August 2024; on his first attempt, he received a 1300 with a score of 710 in Math and 590 in ELA. He plans to retake until he reaches at least a 1500 composite. Jonah has taken seven AP classes as of his Junior year and plans to take six more. The AP classes he has completed or is working to complete include AP World History, AP Human Geography, AP US History, AP Calculus AB, AP Environmental Science, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Art History. Jonah has also been nominated for many awards throughout his academic High School career; a notable one was being nominated to participate in a symposium for future leaders of America at the University of Indianapolis. The seminar featured a keynote address from Steve Inskeep, head of NPR Morning Edition. The seminar also featured topics that pertain to political and cultural issues today. Jonah plans to major in business in college and hopes to become a CFO or an attorney post-soccer career.
Training
Jonah is relentless when it comes to training. Whether it is in team practice or individually he always puts forth his best effort. Jonah trains with Indy Eleven U19 Academy four days a week. After training Jonah will head to the gym to lift; the lift includes plyometrics and upper and lower body exercises to maximize his athletic performance. Before moving to Carmel, Jonah trained at The Performance Lab run by Austin Curtis, where he would lift from 5-7 A.M. before school. Jonah also trains individually with Zoran Nincevic (Former Illinois Central College assistant coach). He loves finding a wall and playing against it to improve his touch and development. You can also find Jonah at a pitch shooting on a net, as he loves to work on his finishing ability.
Passion
In his spare time, Jonah likes creating highlight videos for players looking to get recruited for soccer collegiately. He has created a business called jmwilclips to further his entrepreneurial skills. Jonah’s desire and passion to further his soccer career pushed him to move to Carmel, Indiana. He moved away from his parents in Bloomington, Illinois to play for Indy Eleven. He did this to get closer to his dream of playing professionally. Jonah’s father inspired him to pursue soccer as a career. His father grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo and played soccer as a child. Jonah would love to one day play for the DRC Men’s National Team. He is currently working on attaining dual citizenship.
